Stain Treatment and Spot Cleaning

A professional cleaning service is recommended

Treat stains quickly
    •  It will become increasingly difficult to remove the longer a stain is allowed to set
    •  Pretest any cleaning method or agent in a small hidden inconspicuous area
    •  Several less concentrated applications are less damaging than one concentrated application

Remove fluids immediately by blotting with a clean, colorfast, absorbent cloth
Flush stain with water and dry with clean cloth

Rinse all cleaning agents thoroughly with water and wipe with a soft cloth
    •  Residue left by cleaning agents will degrade and shorten the life and/or affect the product's
       appearance if not removed.

Remove solid or semi-solid substances
    •  Using a flat object, remove as much of the stain as possible
    •  After removal, vacuum thoroughly using the proper attachments before cleaning with an agent

Abrasive household cleansers and steel wool should be avoided

Stain Treatment and Spot Cleaning

    Step 1:  Using a soft, colorfast, damp, soapy cloth or sponge clean the affected area with mild soap and water
    Step 2:  Thoroughly rinse with water and pat dry
    Step 3:  If stain persists, consult the chart below

Cleaning Guide

Eye shadow, mascara, grease, black felt tip pen, crayon, chocolate, and suntan lotion
     Remove excess spill with damp cloth. Clean with 1:1 mix of detergent and water.
     Rinse with clean water and pat dry.

Red lipstick
     Use straight application of concentrated cleaners such as Formula 409 or Fantastic Spray
     cleaner and wipe with a soft, colorfast cloth or sponge. Rinse with clean water and pat dry.

Blood, urine, feces, oil base paint, tar, and asphalt
     Use a 1:1 mix of water and ammonia or a 4:1 mix of water and bleach.  Rinse with clean
     water and pat dry.

All other tough stains
     Use a 1:1 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water.  Use a soft cotton cloth saturated with the
     cleaning material.  Rub the stain in circles 10 times.  If stain persists, use straight alcohol.
     Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry with another soft cotton cloth and check results.

Bleach Cleanable 

To disinfect spray a 10:1 ratio water/bleach mixture on the fabric and allow to linger for the time specified bythe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Rinse all cleaning agents thoroughly with water and wipe with a soft cloth
    •  Residue left by cleaning agents will degrade and shorten the life and/or affect the product's
       appearance if not removed.
