Timeless Maximalism

Redefining Style in Hospitality Design

As design reinvents itself time and time again, what’s old becomes new. This season, we're embracing a “more is more” approach with a dynamic, opulent aesthetic—an artful fusion of nostalgia and unapologetically modern flair, filled with intricate, unexpected details.

Known all over the globe for her eclectic and celebratory style, New York designer Rebecca Moses brings her unique touch to our latest collection. Drawing inspiration from bold maximalism, meta-classical elements, and hints of dreamy color-shifting shades and dark disco-era sparkle, this design direction captures a craving for luxury and a return to timeless motifs. With Moses’ influence setting the tone, we’re unveiling a fresh yet familiar sensibility that shapes the next era of hospitality design.

Maximalism with a Purpose

In the current age of design, maximalist design embraces a space’s essence as if selecting the perfect wardrobe—infusing it with heritage, history, and unique personality. Our latest debut collaboration with Moses brings this enriched philosophy to life with bold, trendsetting wallcovering patterns designed to be eclectically mixed rather than matched.

Take Reflection (above left and on the outer wall at right) for instance, which embodies “The Queen of Style”—a woman confident in her design choices and identity. She may wear a simple white shirt, but her signature accessories—the broach, necklace, and poised stance—encourage designers to add their own personal style touch to any space.

In its entirety, maximalism in our Momentum x Rebecca Moses wallcovering collection brings a flair of feminine empowerment and a revitalized, classic aesthetic to boutique design.

Meta-Classical: Where Past Meets Present

The meta-classical trend merges the grandeur of Greco-Roman motifs with modern design cues. It’s a reimagined classicism that celebrates time-honored details in a fresh, contemporary format. Patterns with embellished columns, sculptural accents, or ornate trims now coexist with playful, modern textures and colors. This nod to antiquity, tempered with new-age boldness, creates a layered look that’s both intricate and inviting.

Deco Dreams wallcovering (above) from Rebecca Moses, is a gorgeous example of this something old, something new style. Its pearlescent, beaded texture and the symmetry of the ornate pattern evoke an immediate sense of refinement and elegance associated with Neo-Classical style, while also adding a creative tactile twist.

Disco Elemental Pulls:

Smoky Depths & Reflective Details

A resurgence of dark, elemental hues is transforming hospitality interiors, blending ancient luxury with a nature-inspired (and nightlife) edge.

WGSN refers to these as “Restorative Darks”—tones that ground and calm, accented with metallics and organic textures to create a striking yet soothing atmosphere, reminiscent of starlit skies or the infinite vastness of canyons and caves.

Part of our Symphony collection, Type II wallcoverings Valley Line and Echo Ridge come together beautifully (interchanged above on the left, with Echo Ridge showcased in dark Moonlit on the right).

Echo Ridge exudes a moody, organic aesthetic with its inky designs, available in 8 colorways—three with metallic accents that add serene depth and openness. Complementing this, Valley Line brings a refined, horizontal texture in 18 colorways, including six metallic options, adding a serene shine. Together, rich coffee browns, slate grays, and subtle hints of shimmer lend a warm, inviting depth to lounges or dining areas.

Whether captivated by dark or light hues, patterns with a subtle sheen or sparkle bring mystique and sophisticated drama to interiors. Many of our Digital Creations wallcoverings feature reflective accents, including the marble-inspired Staturio (right in Luster and Gilded colorways) for a classic-modern feel, along with Antique Vintage, Soleil, Belisama, and more.

Velvet as a Canvas for Patterns

Velvet continues to reign as the fabric of choice for adding elegance and couture comfort to hospitality spaces. An enduring style for the ages, velvet or velvety textures add a balanced richness that complements both subtle and busy patterned wallcoverings or upholstery..

Velvet options like Luxique (left) bring a royal look and feel with a low environmental impact. With velvets or silky textiles for every need and style—from Timeless' jewel-tone dimension to the painterly florals of Vivant or the cozy, slub texture of Wonderland FR—there’s no shortage of supple upholstery to enrich any hospitality design. Designers can also layer velvety drapery or elegant sheers to add allure and light-play within any space.
